The Southern Alberta Awards of Excellence Gala showcased the remarkable talent of our member companies, students, and industry partners. We celebrated excellence in architectural woodwork design and manufacture, deficiency free execution of GIS specified projects, long term service, outstanding customer service and impeccable apprentice skills.

AWMAC Manufacturer Members nominated the Associate Member Company who provided the best, most prompt and professional service to their company during the past year. It was a VERY tight race with only a one vote difference between the top three nominees.

Sales Representative of the Year: Jason Hodgins, Formations Inc.

Outstanding Service Award: John Masciola, Bacon Veneer
The 2023 Outstanding Service Award recognized a very special individual. There is a quote that goes “Volunteers don't necessarily have the time; they have the heart" and this particular person has a lot of heart! This individual selflessly volunteered for a whopping 36 years!!
On behalf of everyone at AWMAC Southern Alberta, it is our pleasure to formally express our gratitude to John Masciola from Bacon Veneer for his incredible volunteer service and for running the annual Southern Alberta Golf Tournament for so many years!
Thank you so much John for sharing your passion for golf and a good time with the Association! Many laughs were had over the years thanks to you and your time and effort has been greatly appreciated by all. We couldn’t have done it without you, you are amazing!

The Guarantee and Inspection Service was instituted to provide clients with certified quality assurance.
Over the past year, AWMAC has worked with 37 local and international architect and design firms on 73 projects within the chapter’s region of Southern Alberta. The Guarantee and Inspection Service Award is given to the manufacturer member that had the greatest number of deficiency free GIS Inspections during the past year. Quality is the cornerstone of the association. It truly is what AWMAC stands for as a manufacturing association and the following award is recognition of that excellence.
Guarantee & Inspection Service - Project Notification Award: Thais Luzini
The GIS Project Notification Award goes to the person that reported the most GIS specified jobs to our office during the past year.
Members routinely notify the AWMAC office when they see a GIS specified job out for tender. From there, we track those jobs
until we find out who the successful millworker is and then we start the inspection process.
